*Rice Pilaf

  • 2 c. uncooked white rice
  • ½ stick unsalted butter 
  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 2 Tbsp minced garlic from jar 
  • 4 c Chicken broth 
  • 2 Tbsp Dried Mixed Vegetables 
  • 1 Tbsp parsley 
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp MSG, optional
  • ⅛ tsp turmeric
  • ⅛ tsp paprika 

Sauté onions and garlic in butter.  Add chicken broth and seasonings. 
Bring to a boil.  Add rice.  Return to boil and reduce heat to low.  Simmer covered for about 20 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
